Throughout most of the year, there is abundant parking available for visitors staying near Saint Michael's Hill, Bristol. Discover more here...

Finding parking in Bristol can sometimes be a challenge, and St. Michael's Hill is no exception. Home to the University of Bristol, Bristol Royal Infirmary, and just a short walk from the city centre, this busy area attracts students, hospital visitors and tourists throughout the year. Whether you're visiting for work, a hospital appointment, sightseeing, or an overnight stay, planning your parking in advance can save you any unnecessary stress.
From on-street parking to nearby multi-storey parks, there are several convenient options available. Here's everything you need to know about parking near St. Michael's Hill.
St Michael's Hill falls within one of Bristol City Council's Controlled Parking Zones (CPZs), where on-street parking is managed to prioritise residents and reduce congestion. Much of the surrounding area is permit-only during the day, with restrictions typically operating from Monday to Saturday, although the exact hours vary by street. Always check nearby signs before leaving your vehicle, as enforcement is regular and penalties apply for parking without the correct permit or payment.
On most of the streets on Saint Michael’s Hill, you’ll find roadside Pay & Display Parking. Please do keep an eye out as some of the bays are just Pay & Display, some are Pay & Display as well as Permitted between certain timings and others are Permit Only.
We suggest you avoid permitted and time-specific spaces as the wardens are pretty thorough and as much as we’d love to cover the cost of your fine, sadly we can’t do this.
