Park Near Tower Bridge: Your Guide to Parking in The Area
1. Q-Park Tower Bridge (Gainsford Street)
- This is probably the most convenient multi-storey, secure car park in the area. Address: 46–50 Gainsford Street, SE1 2NE.
- It has 502 spaces, so good capacity.
- Price: ~£7 for 1 hour, ~£14 for 2 hours, ~£21 for 3 hours, £42 for 24 hours.
- There are 14 electric vehicle charging points.
- Height restriction: about 1.95 m, so check your vehicle’s clearance.
- It’s open 24/7.
- Advantage: very secure, covered, and just a short walk to Tower Bridge and surrounding points.
2. NCP London Bridge (Kipling Street)
- Location: Kipling Street, SE1 3RU, not too far from 64 Tower Bridge Road.
- It has 478 spaces.
- Operating 24 hours.

- 1 hour: ~£5.95
- 1–2 hours: ~£11.90
- 4 to 24 hours: ~£37.95.
- Max vehicle height: about 1.95 m.
- Pros: fairly large, cashless payment, and pre-booking is possible to save time.
- Good choice if Q-Park is full or if you’re okay with a slightly longer walk.
3. On-Street / Pay & Display Options
- There is limited on-street parking around Tower Bridge.
- However, note that Tower Bridge Road is part of a Red Route, which restricts stopping — so on-street options are very limited and can be risky.
- For more flexibility, you might want to use apps like JustPark or YourParkingSpace to pre-book nearby street or private parking spaces. For example:
- YourParkingSpace lists a spot on Setchell Way, SE1, close to the area.
- There is also a private space on Gainsford Street, SE1, bookable via JustPark.
4. Tips & Considerations
- Pre-booking is highly recommended: For car parks like Q-Park or NCP, booking in advance via their apps or via JustPark or NCP can save you both time and money.
- Vehicle size matters: Check height restrictions (both major car parks here limit to ~1.95 m). If you have an SUV or van, double-check before entering.
- Congestion and traffic: SE1, especially near Tower Bridge, can be busy — plan for traffic, particularly during peak tourist times.
- Alternative transport: If you’re just visiting Tower Bridge or London Bridge, consider parking further out and using public transport, or even cycling (Docking stations for Santander Cycles nearby) — walking from the car parks is quite reasonable.
- EV users: The Q-Park offers several charging points.
- Safety: Both major car parks (Q-Park and NCP) are relatively secure. Q-Park has lots of spaces, and NCP is modern with number plate recognition.
5. Who Each Option Is Best For
- Short visits / sightseeing: Q-Park Tower Bridge — easy access, secure, near attractions.
- Longer stays / daily business: NCP London Bridge — 24-hour, good capacity, and decent rates for longer parking.
- Flexible or budget-driven stays: Use apps to find private or on-street spots — cheaper or more convenient if pre-booked.
