FillYaPlate
Wales is famous for it hearty, rough around the edges, yet truly tasty nosh, this follows through into their no nonsense one of a kind independent restaurants. Be it Welsh cakes, leek rarebit, and let’s not forget roasted lamb which appears at many a Sunday luncheon.
Cardiff has a fresh honest food and combined with its authentically warm and friendly Welsh hospitality we thought it would be the perfect location to open our new Aparthotel in Cardiff in 2026.
Without further ado, here are some of our favourite places to eat in Cardiff!
The Grazing Shed
Who doesn’t love burgers? The Grazing Shed prides itself on its ‘super tidy’ burgers that will have you gulping in glee. They have unique flavour combinations from all over the world but their meat, the bread and all other ingredients are Welsh. Definitely a crowd pleaser.
Purple Poppadom
If Indian cuisine is more your thing then Purple Poppadom is the way to go. Expect quality Indian cuisine spiced and served with a contemporary edge. This place works magic with your everyday traditional Indian flavours and just keeps the punters coming back with more and more friends.
If Indian tapas is your thing then hit them up midweek with their exclusive tapas take on their usual divine dishes.
The Cornerhouse
The Cornerhouse is brimming with independent pub vibes and is smack right in the centre of town.
While you’ll find items like burgers and pies on The Cornerhouse menu, this is no typical pub grub. Every dish has a gourmet touch to it and is presented beautifully. They also do lighter bites and great dishes for lunch. A meal that you’ll want to repeat time and time again!
Let’s hope this has given you some inspiration for some of the best places to eat in Cardiff.
