  • What are the best ways to get into London?

So you’re looking to travel to London? No worries!

Here’s a quick rundown of how to get into London from Land, Air and Rail…

    Travelling from the North

If you’re traveling from the North and want to get into London, the best way is by train. There are several direct train services that connect cities in the North, such as Manchester, Liverpool, and Leeds, to London.

Once you arrive at one of London’s major train stations, such as King’s Cross, Euston or Paddington, you’ll have easy access to the city’s extensive public transport network, including the Tube, buses, and taxis.

    Travelling from the East

Traveling from the East? The easiest way is by train or the Tube. Direct train services connect cities such as Cambridge, Norwich, and Ipswich to London, and the journey time is usually between 1-2 hours depending on your starting point.

Alternatively, you can take the Tube on the Central or District line, which run from East London into the city center.

    Travelling from the South

To get into London from the South, you can take a train from one of the many railway stations located throughout the region, such as Brighton, Southampton, or Portsmouth. Trains run frequently and offer a fast and efficient way to travel into the city.

You can also drive or take a bus, but these options may be slower and more subject to traffic congestion.

    Travelling from the West

To get into London from the West, you can take a train from one of the major railway stations such as Reading or Slough, which offer frequent and fast services into the city.

Again, you can drive or take a bus, but these options may be slower and more subject to traffic congestion.

    Travelling in by Air

To get into London by plane, you can fly into one of the six major airports located near the city: Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Luton, London City, or Southend. From there, you can take a train, bus, taxi, or ride-share service to reach your destination in London.

Each airport has different transportation options available, so it’s best to research and plan ahead.

    Travelling in by Eurostar

To get into London by Eurostar, you can take the train from Paris, Brussels, or Amsterdam directly to St Pancras International station, located in central London.

The journey times vary depending on the starting city but typically take around 2 hours from Paris and Brussels and 4 hours from Amsterdam. St Pancras is well connected to the rest of London via the underground and bus networks.
