Calling all gin lovers....

Bristol has long had a thriving social scene. It should come as no surprise, therefore, that the city boasts a host of attractive and welcoming gin bars for weary sightseers. Here are eight awesome venues you'll want to check out on your next trip to Bristol!

Corks Of Bristol

Corks of Bristol is one of the city's older gin-vending establishments. They sell across three locations - Cotham, North Street and Wapping Wharf - and have highly knowledgeable staff. Going to one of their establishments is ideal if you want to pick up a bottle of gin or two before you head back to your accommodation.

The Green Man

Some people love trendy bars and cocktail houses. But if you're the sort of person who likes a good, old-fashioned pub experience, then The Green Man should be on your itinerary. You'll find the established tucked away in Kingsdown. It offers more than a hundred varieties of gin, many made by artisan producers, allowing you to try something a little different from the norm.

Bristol Distilling Co

Chance & Counters

This venue, whose name is an interesting play on words, is at the foot of Christmas Steps. It is primarily a board game cafe where you can duke it out with your friends. But locals know that it also serves up great gin and tonic. Just don't drink too much if you're trying to win a game of Monopoly - you don't want an alcohol-induced handicap!

Scarlet Lantern

Red Light is a 1950s-themed bar on Unity Street, close to the centre of town. It is immediately recognisable, thanks to its graffiti-covered door, and serves up some of the best gin cocktails and martinis in the city. Just remember to book ahead: it can get jam-packed.

Psychopomp Micro-Distillery

Psychopomp makes gin using copper pot stills, and you can find the company's products in gin bars across Bristol. Still, if you want to experience the distillery's output at its best, you need to go to the source. Psychopomp serves up gin and tonics, negronis and martinis and hosts a bunch of gin-themed events throughout the year. If you go, be sure to check out the gin cocktail set menu at the Distiller's Table.

The Pump House

The Pump House is one of Bristol's finest establishments. Located on the city docks, it offers plenty of outdoor space, sun traps in the summer, and the most extensive collection of gin of anywhere in the city, with more than 600 bottles on display. Toby Gritten, head chef at the joint, also serves up delicious meals daily.
